I began P90X on Feb 20 2011. I weighed 197 lbs and was ready to begin my journey of weight loss. My perceptions going in were I was going to lose like crazy and end up with a beach body after 90 days. After 30 Days in I realized that was not going to happen. I cut out all red meats and alcohol and just ate "good" foods from Day 1. P90X nutrional guide has recipes and recommended foods. It is important to follow that as closely as possible for maximum results. Food intake is honestly the majority of this program. My metabolism is slower than most. Prior to P90X I wasn't stuffing myself full of Fast Foods and eatting like a fatty. P90X is truly eating right and exercising to your bodies potentioal. I learned after 60 days that my portions were a bit much. I really was motivated by the beach body forums and the pictures people would post on there. People seemed to get a better result than I was achieving in the first 90 days but I still kept at it because my own pictures were inspiring enough. This was my biggest motivation. Pictures should be a part of any weight loss program as whenever your having one of those days, to pull up and look at your pictures will set you in the right direction. I also began speaking to a coach through United health care so I could win a gift card if I reached my goal through work. We talked approximately every 30 days beginning in March. She is a great listener an makes me set goals up for not only physically but nutrionally as well. I finished at 181 lbs. The one thing that I will reiterate in the first 30 days is your body if it was anything like mine where you had so little muscle is losing fat and gaining muscle so even if the scale doesn't move as fast as you would like think of all the muscle you gained. Here are my results in the first round:
